As Thanksgiving is approaching, I just wanted to share a few things that I am thankful for.
I am thankful for all of the very obvious things such as, a warm, dry roof over my head. Well, after I fixed all the leaks in my house:). I am thankful for being able to have good tasting, nutritious food for me and my family. OI owe this to living in a state where you can still buy raw milk without fear of prison. Well, almost.
I am thankful for the clothes I have to wear. I don’t have fancy ones, and could not care less about that. But, I am thankful to be able to get what I need.
I am thankful for my family-this is first and foremost. I could not bare life without them. They make the sun shine and the moon glow and make everything worth living for.
I am very thankful for being able to open my eyes in the morning and see out of them, to hear the birds sing-they bring music into my heart. When I go to sleep at night, I can hear the owl in the tree hoot this deep and beautiful sound. It warms my heart in a profound way and reconnects me with the earth before I shut my eyes and lay my head to rest after giving all that I had during my day.
I am thankful that I can lift my body from my bed and take care of myself. My body manages to support me through all of my daily needs. I am ever grateful for this gift.
I am ever grateful that I overcame my past challenges-both physical and emotional. These were journeys that were huge and painful obstacles, but, I made it through and conquered each one.
I am grateful for the people in my life that I have-the ones that have been true-although few, they are precious to me-each one.
I am grateful for my animals who have touched me and shown me enormous love-innocent love-blind love. It reminds me of what we should aspire to as human beings.
And lastly definitely not leastly, that which is very near and dear to my heart, is the privilage I have been given -the gift of walking along side so many in their journey to regaining their health. That is a gift that I am ever grateful for. It has added immeasurable depth and meaning to my life and I cherish every moment.
This Thanksgiving, let’s all try to be mindful of not only what we are long for and struggling towards, but, for everything we have. We each have blessings that are so important to remember.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
