This is a nice article regarding this topic. Often it is said that certain vaccines are mandatory even though in small writing there will be a disclaimer expalining your rights to decline. There is so much pressure placed upon us in the medical system. And while it may seem that vaccines have nothing to do with IC, it is one more thing that we do in medical care without often thinking through the potential for unwanted effects in our bodies or the bodies of our children. A patient came to me recently saying her doctor said she had to get her tetanus booster, “it is mandatory”. “Mandatory?”, I asked, according to whom? This patient declined.
