My daughter was stung by a bee the other day and I put on a linament to stop the pain and swelling which was really rahter severe and swift. The linament took about an hour but it did start to reduce the swelling rather dramatically. Oddly, an hour later, her friend also was stung with the same severe reaction. This child had not been there when the first sting happened. So, her parents not knowing what I had done said–oh get an aspirin and crush it and rub it on the sting (of their child). My daughter turned and asked, “what is aspirin?”.

It was classic. Everyone laughed at her and thought it was funny, but, my heart lit up with a kind of happiness that she never had the opportunity to have to know that.
