It is perplexing to me that in a day and age where we have had to worry about the carcinogenic effects of things like Fukushima, arsenic and other toxins that have leached into our food supply from conventional farming, chlorine and flouride in our water supply, and a sadly unlimited number of other things in our moder world, that we need to focus on genetically modifying out a single ingredient in potatoes because the current thought is THAT is the major contributing factor to higher rates of cancer? Really? Our ancestors were probably eating a much higher percentage of potatoes than we ever could and it is only in past decades that cancer rates have risen so extensively.

Maybe the inventors of this technology actually think that this will have some kind of health contributing effect on the planet but somehow I think that this has more to do with financial gain than something more altruistic.

In my opinion, we should leave our foods as they were originally designed by nature and not subject ourselves to the potentially problematic effects of having genetically modified them.

As consumers, it is important for each of us to become aware of all of these things that are being done so that we may make a choice to eat food that is in sync with nature and our bodies.

Here is what is coming our way, so look out: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/08/business/genetically-modified-potato-from-simplot-approved-by-usda.html?_r=3
